For over 160 years, the AAAS has served as a voice of science and a valuable resource for scientists, educators, and policy makers. For the past 100 years, part of this role has included publishing Science, one of the world’s premier peer-reviewed research journals. Beyond Science, AAAS manages a host of programs aimed at promoting science for the good of all people. These programs include efforts that use science to protect human rights, encourage governments to support science and science education, make science accessible to the general public, and promote diversity in the scientific work force.
