OPEN CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS STARTS: JANUARY 31, 2012!
This year marks the 5th Year Anniversary of the Imagine Science Film Festival in New York and the 1st Biannual ISF UCD Festival in Ireland. To honor this special year, Imagine Science Films would like to offer a special opportunity for filmmakers interested in participating. Filmmakers who submit their films by the Early Bird or Regular deadlines will be eligible for both the Imagine Science Film Festival in New York (October 2012) and the ISF UCD Festival in Dublin, Ireland (July, 2012).
Deadlines:
Early Bird Deadline (ISFF New York/Dublin) : March 15th
Regular Deadline (ISFF New York/Dublin) : May 31st
Late Deadline (only ISFF New York) : June 15
Extension Deadline (only ISFF New York) : July 15
Eligibility- ISFF seeks films, that effectively incorporate science into a compelling narrative while maintaining credible scientific groundings.
- ISFF seeks films that have a scientific or technological theme and storyline, or that have a leading character who is a scientist, engineer, or mathematician.
- The scientific content needs to be presented in a compelling, narrative-driven and accurate manner.
- Submissions must be in English or have English subtitles, and there must be a preview AND screening copy available in English or with English subtitles, excepting music videos and films without dialogue.
- If your film is accepted, ISFF generally screens off of DVD or Mini DV but we can often assist filmmakers in making transfers from other types of masters if necessary. We may also be able to screen in other formats as the festival gets closer.

Deadlines, Fees and NotificationAll on-time submissions for 2012 will be notified of their status the month prior to the festival (all fees are in U.S. dollars ONLY, foreign currency cannot be accepted). The submission fees are as follows:
Early Bird Deadline (March 15th): $15
Regular Deadline (May 31st): $20
Late Deadline (June 15th): $25
Extension Deadline (July 15th): $30- The submission fee need only be paid once per filmmaker per year. You may submit multiple films without paying an additional fee in 2012.
- All filmmakers will receive notification, whether or not their film is chosen to screen as part of the fall series. Notifications
will be sent out on or before September 15th. Please DO NOT contact us to find out whether or not your film has been received. We do not have a large enough staff to respond to such inquiries.
- Submissions made through Withoutabox must make their submission fee payments through Withoutabox. All submission fees must be paid in U.S. currency. If you are submitting a film from outside the U.S. by mail, please pay with a credit card online via Withoutabox. Please also note that entries must be made no later than July 15, 2012 (including payment of the late submission fee through Withoutabox), for consideration for the 2011 ISFF.
- Filmmakers not using Withoutabox should pay by money order or check (order of Imagine Science Films) and submit the Checklist and Submissions Form. Please mail your submissions to the address below:

Previews, Entry Format & Submission Form- ISFF accepts submissions on NTSC or PAL DVD (any region) and NTSC, PAL or Secam VHS.
- Preview VHS tapes and DVDs WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Please DO NOT send a self-addressed stamped envelope.
DO NOT send a master tape as a preview copy. - If your film is accepted, we will get a master tape from you, and will mail back masters at our expense.
- Please write or print your name, email, phone number, and the name of the film directly on the preview tape or DVD.
