Born in Paris in 1974, Jeremy CLAPIN graduated from the Arts Décoratifs school of Paris in 1999. Since then, he has worked in several areas : as a graphic artist, as an illustrator for the press and various publishing houses, and as an independent director working in adverts. In 2004, he directed his first animated short film, A Backbone Tale (Une histoire vertébrale) which was featured in over 60 festivals worldwide, and won more than 15 prizes. Skhizein is his second film; released in March 2008, it has already won over 50 awards, including at Cannes, Annecy and Clermont Ferrand (France), Palm Springs, Ann Arbor and Brooklyn (USA), Leeds, Bristol Encounters and BAF (UK) and Leipzig, Dresden and Trickfilm Stuttgart (Germany).
